Give Styles
 
A style is a format attractive tool that includes font typefaces, font size, effects (bold, italics, underline, etc.), colors and more.
 
In Microsoft Word-2007 you will note that on the Home Tab of the Ribbon, that you have several areas that will control the style of your document: Font, Paragraph, and Styles.
 
 
Steps for Create a new Quick Style in Word 2007
 
The following are the steps to create a new Quick Style in Word 2007:
 
1. Select the text that you want to create as a new style.
 
2. Format the text using the mini toolbar that appears above the selected text.
 
3. On the Home tab, in the Styles group click “Save Selection as a New Quick Style”
 
 
• Provide the style a name, and then click OK
 
• The new style that you created appears in the Quick Styles gallery with the name you gave it, ready for you to use.
 
Modify a style in the Quick Style set in Word 2007:
 
The following are the steps to modify a style in the Quick Style set in Word 2007:
 
1. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the style that you want to modify in the Quick Style gallery.
 
To find and change more styles in the set, click the up arrow or down arrow next to the Quick Styles gallery.
 
2. Click Modify on the shortcut menu.
 
In the Modify Style dialog box, change the style any way that you want, and then click OK.
 
 
Create a custom Quick Style set in Word 2007:
 
The following are the steps to create a custom Quick Style set in Word 2007:
 
1. Find more styles in a Quick Style set by clicking the up arrow or down arrow then to the Quick Styles gallery and modify them by following the steps above.
 
2. You can also create new styles and add them to the Quick Style set, by following the steps detailed in “Create a new Quick Style in Word 2007”
 
3. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click Change Styles, and then point to Style Set. Click Save as Quick Style Set.
 
 
4. In the Save Quick Style Set dialog box, type a name for your new Quick Style set, and then click Save.
 
5. To view the new Quick Style set, click Change Styles in the Styles group, and then point to Style Set. The new Quick Style set appears in the list so that you can apply it to a document at any time.
 
 
 
 
Changing Font Type & Font Size
 
To change the font type follow the below steps:
 
1. Click the arrow subsequently to the font name and select a font in the Font group of the Home tab.
 
 
2. Remember that you can preview how the new font will look by highlighting the text, and hovering over the new font type.
 
 
To change the font size follow the below steps:
 
1. Click the arrow next to the font size and choose the appropriate size in the Font group of the Home tab.
 
2.Click the increase or decrease font size buttons.
 
 
 
 
 
Font Styles & Effects
 
Font styles are predefined formatting options that are used to emphasize text.
 
Font Styles include Bold, Italic, and Underline.
 
To add these to text, follow the following steps:
 
Select the text and click the Font Styles included on the Font Group of the Ribbon,
 
You can also select the text and right click to display the font tools
 
 
 
 
Change Font Color
 
To change the Font color, follows the following steps:
 
Select the text and click the Colors button included on the Font Group of the Ribbon.
 
You can also follow another method:
 
1. Select the text and right click and choose the colors tool.
 
2. Select the color by clicking the down arrow next to the font color button.
 
 
 
 
 
Highlight Your Text
 
Highlighting text permits you to use emphasize text while you would if you had a marker.
 
To highlight text follow the following Steps:
 
1. Select the text
 
2. Click the Highlight Button on the Font Group of the Ribbon.
 
You can also follow another method:
 
1. Select the text and right click on selected text, then select the highlight tool.
 
2. To change the color of the highlighter, click on “Down arrow” next to the highlight button.
 
 
 
 
 
Bullet & Numbering
 
In Microsoft Word-2007, Bullet lists have bullet points and Number lists have numbers.
 
To add a list to existing text follows the following steps:
 
1. Select the text you wish to make a list
 
2. From the Paragraph Group on the Home Tab, Click the Bulleted or Numbered Lists button
 
 
To create a new list, follows the steps given below:
 
1. Place your cursor where you want the list in the document
 
2. Click the Bulleted or Numbered Lists button

Paragraph Formatting
 
Change Alignment of Paragraph
 
Microsoft Word-2007 allows you to set how you want text to appear, with the help of paragraph alignment.
 
To change the alignment of paragraph follows the following steps:
 
1. Click the Home Tab
 
2. Choose the appropriate button for alignment on the Paragraph Group.
 
Align Left: The text is aligned with your left margin
 
Center: The text is centered within your margins
 
Align Right: Aligns text with the right margin
 
Justify: Aligns text to both the left and right margins.
 
 
 
 
 
Indent Paragraphs
 
Indenting paragraphs allows you set text within a paragraph at different margins (the left or the right margin).
 
Within the margins, you can increase or decrease the indentation of a paragraph or group of paragraphs.
 
There are numerous options for indenting:
 
• First Line: Controls the left boundary for the first line of a paragraph
 
• Hanging: Controls the left boundary of every line in a paragraph except the first one
 
• Left: Controls the left boundary for every line in a paragraph
 
• Right: Controls the right boundary for every line in a paragraph
 
For indent paragraphs, you can do the following:
 
• To control the indent : Click the Indent buttons
 
• To increase the size of the indent : Click the Indent buttons repeated times
 
 
• Click the dialog box of the Paragraph Group
 
• Click the Indents and Spacing Tab
 
• Select your indents
 
 
 
 
Add Borders & Shading on Page
 
You can add borders and shading to paragraphs and entire pages. To create a border around a paragraph or paragraphs follow the below steps.
 
• Step 1:
(a). Select the text
(b). Click the Page Layout tab.
(c). Click the Page Borders button.
 
 
• Step 2:
(a). Click the Borders tab.
(b). Click a box setting to modify all border edges.
(c). Click the edge in the diagram to modify individual border edges.
(d). Click a border style, color, and width.
 
• Step 3:
(a). Click the Shading tab.
(b). Click the Fill list arrow, and then click a fill color.
(c). Click OK.

• Select the area of text where you want the border or shading.

• Click the dialog box next to the Styles Group on the Home Tab.

Change Alignment of Paragraph
 
Follow these steps for change spacing between Paragraphs & Lines:
 
1. To change the line spacing in Word 2007, Click on Home tab Ribbon of the Application window.
 
 
2. The fastest way to change the line spacing in Word 2007 is by altering the "style".
In the Styles group on the Home tab, Click the Change Styles button.
Select Style Set, then choose anyone of the given style (Such as: Word 2003).

3. Now, to make a style (such as: word 2003) to your default setting, click the Change Styles button again, and choose Set as Default.
 
 
4. The Word 2007 line spacing has now been set to the way it was in Word 2003 - which is single spacing.
 
Now, whenever you open a Blank Document in Microsoft Word 2007, the line spacing will be single space with no extra space between paragraphs.

1. Select the drawing object.
 
2. On the Drawing toolbar, click 3-D Style .

1. Select that line which you want to change.
 
If you want to change several lines, select the first line, and then press and hold CTRL while you select the other lines.
 
2. Under Drawing Tools, on Format tab, in the Shape Styles group, click the arrow next to Shape Outline, and then click the color that you want.
 
 
If you do not see the Drawing Tools or Format tabs, double-click the line to make sure that you selected it.
 
Change Fill Color
 
You can change fill color in your document by follow these steps:
 
1. Select that Shape which you want to change.
 
2. Under Drawing Tools, on Format tab, in the Shape Styles group, click the arrow next to Shape Fill, and then click the color that you want.
 
 
3. If you do not see the Drawing Tools or Format tabs, double-click the line to make sure that you selected it.
